Programs at Whiz Kids

Our structured Preschool and Pre-K Programs exposes children to a curriculum that is flexible enough to accommodate individual differences in needs, abilities, and interests. Our Preschool Program is offered to children  2 years and 9 months of age.  Our Pre-K program is typically offered to children 3.5 years old.  The Pre-K curriculum is designed to prepare them for kindergarten.

Children do a project, have circle time, and engage in various types of play in the morning. The Preschoolers rest after lunch, and may nap on a cot or engage in a quiet activity such as reading or coloring. 

Our Toddler program provides daily learning activities geared toward little hands, varying attention spans, and different skill levels.
Activities include: • grasping   • dropping   • crawling  • cruising   • peek-a-boo  • pushing  

• pulling  •  finger-plays  • sensory exploration  • dancing  • book browsing  • talking  •  listening  

• outdoor play

Our School-Aged Program includes before and after school hours as well as care during school vacations and closures. Children can be transported to school on one of our school buses to and from School. After school children can choose from a variety of fun activities including:  •  arts and crafts  •  games  •  books  •  basket ball  • other playground activities 

Teachers are available to help with homework.

During school vacations we use our own school buses to take children on a variety of field trips and adventure outings. During vacation weeks and summer recess the Whiz Kids School-Aged Program is licensed by the Town of Barnstable Health Dept.

All children ages 2 years and 9 months through 5 years are included in our Little Kids Camp. Summer mornings are reserved for trips to playgrounds and the Splash Park. Our little campers experience afternoons at Whiz Kids where they can use the recently renovated playground, play games, do arts and crafts or if they choose, just play in the sand.

Our Big Kids Program includes children ages 6 through 12. The Big Kids spend the morning at our center using the basketball court, gaga pit, new playground , having fun at the splash pad or doing arts and crafts projects and hanging out with their friends. Afternoons are spent out on field trips to different locations for a variety of activities such as  going on nature walks, and playground hopping.

Late Care can be arranged if space is available. Please talk with the director if you anticipate needing late care.
